Greetings! The most common question I am asked is "where to stay" in the Destin area. There are three main areas where people stay. They are only 10 miles from each other: Ft. Walton Beach, Destin, South Walton. There is more to do in Destin and that's where most of the restaurants are as well. If you want a place that is more quiet I would suggest South Walton. Ft. Walton Beach though can be a great deal and it's only 10 minutes west of Destin. In South Walton there are small "commumitities" that visitors can get accomodations: Dune Allen, Blue Mountain, Grayton, Watercolor, Seaside, Seagrove, and Rosemary.
